Q: What time are surf lessons?
A: Surf Lesson times are 8am, 9am and 6pm - sunset!

A: Stand Up Paddle Lessons are 9am, 2pm and 5pm
Q: What can i expect out of a lesson?
A: All lessons are custom to your needs. All lessons start on land with a brief tutorial to get you acquainted with the instructor and equipment. Then its time to get in the water for surfing or stand up paddle. Every one will get to there feet!
Q: What is the cancellation policy? What if it rains?
A: As a courtesy for our scheduled instructors, please call at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule a surf or paddle experience. Noncompliance will result in full payment of your service. We do play in the rain! However if its simple miserable (heavy rain and wind) you have the right to cancel or reschedule and so do we.
Q: How can I pay for a lesson?
A: Book and pay for lesson online (6% service fee is added). Call to book, credit card information needed to reserve but can pay cash, check or other card at time of service. Cash is preferred to keep our operating coast down and is easier to deal with on the beach however all major CC are accepted.
Q: Is tip included?
A: No tip is not included and are greatly appreciated! If you have an awesome time its a great way to let the instructor know!
Q: What if I buy a 2hr paddle board rental and only stay out for 1hr?
A: You have 2 choices: we can issue you a partial refund or we can keep record of credit remaining. Example 2hr paddle rental is $40 a 1hr paddle board rental is $25 so if you only paddle for 1hr you would get a refund of $15 or can have a $15 credit. NOTE 2hr rental must be used consecutively.
Q: What is the advantage of taking a private lesson?
A: All lessons are small focused groups with a ratio of 1 instructor to 4 surfers or paddlers but there is nothing better than 1 on 1 personal attention. Once you catch your first wave you’ll be hooked!
Q: Where to meet?
A: You will receive a phone call, text or email the day before your lesson with the exact location.
Q: What are the age restrictions?
A: We do not label an age to young or to old. The requirement is one must be comfortable in the water. Needs to know how to swim (tred water, doggie paddle, and hold ones breath). We do supply life vest for SUP (stand up paddle) but surfers need to be comfortable in the water!
Q: How do mobile rentals work?
A: We are a mobile company as well so rentals are dropped off and picked up in the Westerly area free of charge. Rentals are offered 7 days a week from 10am - 6pm. Half day rentals offered from 10am - 2pm or 2pm - 6pm and full day rentals 10am - 6pm. If you need alternate times just call and we'll see what we can do for you. If you are located outside of Westerly a delivery fee is determined upon location.
Q: Why do you ask my height and weight?
A: We have a variety of board shapes and sizes. We ask your height and weight to determine the right size board for you.
Q: What happens if we are late for our lesson?
A: There is a 10 - 15 min grace period when we are teaching the land lesson. Once we are in the water and out of site it is considered a no show and you will be charged the full amount. If you show up late for a lesson the lesson will sill end 1hr from the original start time. Example lesson start time is 9am you show up at 9:20am the lesson will still end at 10am. (its always a good idea to call if you will be late)
Q: How early should I show up for a lesson?
A: It is best to show up a few minuets early for a lesson to assure parking and time to get to the meeting location.
Q: Is there a place to leave our belongings?
A: Off site locations there is no place to leave valuables. They are best stored at home or in the car.
A: On site location is secure and fully equipped with bathrooms, hot showers and a secure place for your belongings.

Q: What happens if the board breaks when renting?
A: You are responsible for the boards when renting so treat them as if they were your own. There is no charge for minor scratches but one will be charged accordingly for broken or lost equipment.
Q: Do you sell paddle boards?
A: Yes. Paddle Surf RI works exclusively with Angulo Hawaii. We only stock a small quiver of new boards at the start of every season and once we are out we're out! We do sell used boards through out the season but it is best to contact us in late May and early September to grab a used board. All used boards are in good condition!
Q: What time can I schedule a Party or Cooperate Event?
A: Peak season Parties at the Yard can be schedule at 9am (or earlier), 4pm or 6pm. Peak season Parties at the Beach can be scheduled at 8:30am or 6pm (due to town ordinance surf restrictions). Off season Party times are flexible.
